Last month the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) installed Glenn County Supervisor John Viegas as Chair, Tehama County Supervisor and Northern California Water Association Board member Bob Williams was installed as First Vice Chair for 2016.

Supervisor Viegas remarked on becoming Chair, “We’re looking at another challenging year for California’s rural counties, and I am honored and thankful that my fellow rural county leaders have entrusted me to lead RCRC’s efforts as Chair. I look forward to the opportunity to work with RCRC Board Members and staff on strategies and opportunities that raise the level of awareness of rural communities in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.”

PublicCEO.com, a local government news aggregate site dedicated to providing a statewide perspective on California’s cities, counties and special districts, recently carried his complete remarks. The article is available at: The Year Ahead for California’s Rural Counties.
